This site provides various builds of GHC HEAD, built and packaged for Debian stable (currently Debian wheezy).
The following packages are daily builds of GHC HEAD. The packaging is the same as used in the official Debian packages, so you should be able to use a package from here and later upgrade to an official package.
To use these packages, add these lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://deb.haskell.org/dailies/YYYY-MM-DD/ ./ deb-src http://deb.haskell.org/dailies/YYYY-MM-DD/ ./or, if you always want to have the latest version,
deb http://deb.haskell.org/dailies/latest/ ./ deb-src http://deb.haskell.org/dailies/latest/ ./
We also provide builds of various previous releases for Debian stable. These are not compatible with the official packages, but support being installed along side with them and each other (they install to /opt/ghc-version):
deb http://deb.haskell.org/stable/ ./ deb-src http://deb.haskell.org/stable/ ./
This repository also contains somewhat recent packages of alex, cabal-install and happy, built for Debian stable.
These are based on the packages for Ubuntu releases provided by Herbert Valerio Riedel.
To avoid warnings, you might want to install the key used to sign these repositories:
GET http://deb.haskell.org/deb.haskell.org.gpg-key | apt-key add -The key is signed using a key from the Debian keyring, in case you want to verify it first.
These directories also contain build logs and GHC source tarballs (filename ghc_*.orig.tar.gz) which might be interesting to some people.
This service is provided by the GHC team on hardware generously sponsored by Rackspace. Joachim Breitner currently manages this. Please direct your questions to him or the ghc-dev mailing list.
